EXPLORE THE BITTERN LINE RAILWAY
The Bittern Line runs from the Cathederal City of Norwich via the Broads National Park, through the historic market town of North Walsham and on to Cromer and Sheringham, part of the fossil rich Deep History Coast.
Connections along the line include at Wroxham & Hoveton, the Bure Valley Railway, a narrow guage line which runs through the Norfolk countryside to Aylsham. The Bittern Line terminates at Sheringham, home to the superbly restored North Norfolk Railway which runs steam and diesel services via Weybourne to Holt. At Sheringham the CoastHopper bus service runs around the North Norfolk Coast to Wells-Next-The-Sea and on to Hunstanton.
From North Walsham Station, the town centre is just a short walk away, on leaving the platform walk down the slope to the main road and turn right, continue to the traffic lights and cross over, the walking route to the town centre is then sign-posted. Maps at the station also show other amenities in the town.
For more information on our regular timetable and great value fares, please telephone National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50. Tickets can be purchased online, at staffed station booking offices, onboard trains from the conductor or at ticket machines at stations.
